Join Zalika Reid-Benta, author of River Mumma, in conversation with Tshay. River Mumma (releasing February 2024) is an exhilarating contemporary fantasy novel based on Jamaican folklore about a young Black woman who navigates her quarter-life-crisis while embarking on a mythical quest through the streets of Toronto. The book was selected as a best February release by Apple Books and Amazon.

Local filmmaker and artist Tshay, who is currently working on a short film which also incorporates Jamaican folklore, will lead a conversation with the author about creative process and bringing folklore into contemporary contexts.
