Jamar Nicholas is an award-winning, Philadelphia-based artist and educator, dedicating his career to helping young people realize the power of visual narrative. Jamar's current project Leon the Extraordinary (Scholastic) is the first graphic novel in his series featuring Leon and his friends, Carlos and Clementine. The second book will be published in fall 2024.
There will be a short artist talk about creative process and the story behind Leon, sustaining your artistic practice and how to get a graphic novel published. There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is on a first come first served basis. There will be copies of Leon the Extraordinary available; to reserve you copy in advance use our special order form.
